Eating in Tijuana: a first-visit guide

Make one meal the anchor

Decide whether you want a long lunch or a quick stop before a show. Put the restaurant and your next destination on the same map before booking. A short list is more useful than an ambitious route with no time left to eat.

Two places to start

Caesar’s on Avenida Revolución is associated with the city’s Caesar salad story and offers a sit-down restaurant setting. Telefónica Gastro Park brings food and craft beer together on Boulevard Agua Caliente. They suit different plans: a reserved meal versus a stop where a group can explore the current food options. Neither listing is a rating or a claim that we ate there.

Reserve for your actual group

Use the restaurant’s own contact or booking link. Give the date, arrival time and number of people. Ask about children, step-free access or dietary needs before committing. At a food park, check that the kitchen you want will be serving when you arrive; the overall venue schedule may not answer that question.

Read the bill in the right currency

Check whether menu prices are in pesos and ask what is included. If paying by card, read the terminal’s amount and currency before accepting. Decide on any tip deliberately and keep the receipt. Do not build your budget around an old menu photo.

Keep the food plan flexible

Tell staff about allergies directly and ask how a dish is prepared. Leave room for a second stop only if the timing works. If dinner is before a ticketed performance, tell the server your departure time when you sit down.
