Container Coffee Roaster Co. is a specialty coffee shop and roaster on Avenida Revolución in downtown Tijuana. It roasts its own beans and appears in recent guides: in San Diego Magazine’s locals’ guide to Tijuana (May 2025), walking-tour founder Mariana Sánchez of Nana en Tijuana named it a recent favorite for its house-roasted beans, and in October 2026 Publimetro included it in a roundup of 20 Tijuana coffee shops, noting its specialty-coffee focus and linking it to single-origin espresso, filter brewing and Mexican beans.

The coffee

Publimetro’s entry associates it with single-origin espresso, filter methods and Mexican beans. Atly’s listing says the shop roasts on site and offers several ways to brew, with espresso drinks and lattes among the orders it mentions. In its February 2019 review, the coffee site The Coffee Vine said the roaster was working on a Probat machine, which made it, according to the site, the only Tijuana roastery using one at the time, and the café had taken the Americano off its menu to steer people toward filter coffee. That was years ago, so ask what’s brewing now.

Who’s behind it

According to The Coffee Vine, Container was founded by head roaster Ramon Aceves and colleagues who had been competing in Mexico’s national barista championships, and the business first operated elsewhere, under another name.

What to expect

Atly describes vintage decor with a biker feel, plenty of seating and a patio, and notes that tables fill up at busy times. The Coffee Vine’s 2019 review found a compact café: a few armchairs and tables indoors, more seats on the patio, much of the interior given over to production and training, and a long bar facing the espresso machine so you can watch the baristas; its 2020 guide said the shop was being renovated, so the room may look different today. Atly also mentions burgers on the menu and says the staff speak English.

Prices

We haven’t seen a current menu with prices. Atly’s listing describes them as reasonable.

Getting there

Container is at Av. Revolución 1348, Col. Centro, per The Coffee Vine and Atly. In 2019, The Coffee Vine placed it at the end of Revolución with the Tonalá arthouse cinema, the building now home to the Museo del Taco, so the two make an easy pairing. Our Museo del Taco profile describes that building as a short taxi or ride-hail trip from the San Ysidro crossing.
