LionFish Restaurant Río is a seafood restaurant on Erasmo Castellanos Quinto in Zona Río. On its OpenTable page it describes its cooking as authentic seafood fusion and lists seafood, an oyster bar and Mediterranean among its cuisines, and San Diego Magazine’s 2025 locals’ guide to Tijuana recommends Lion Fish for seafood, without naming a location. Weekends get packed, according to Atly’s summary of reviews.
The food
We couldn’t open the restaurant’s own website or a menu when we checked, so here is what the listings and diners point to. Dishes named on OpenTable include camarones zarandeados (grilled shrimp, zarandeado style), tuna sashimi, hamachi tiradito and churros for dessert, and Atly’s review summary mentions grilled octopus and flan. Both sites single out the drinks, and Atly tags the bar for mixology.
What to expect
The restaurant runs on two floors, each with its own hours. Atly describes a spacious room with a modern renovation and several terraces, including one for smokers, with music and TV screens that give it some bar energy. It also mentions a children’s play area with a babysitter, which makes it an option for family lunches. OpenTable lists the dress code as casual.
Prices and entry
Price guides don’t agree. OpenTable files LionFish in its lowest price band, up to MX$300, while Atly’s review summary puts a typical visit at 800 to 900 pesos (about US$50 to $60) per person, including one dish, two drinks and tip. If you’re having cocktails, Atly’s figure is the safer guide. OpenTable lists American Express, Mastercard and Visa, and you can book through OpenTable or call 664 438 7672.
Getting there
LionFish is at Erasmo Castellanos Q. 1857, Zona Urbana Río (postal code 22010), and there’s valet parking at the entrance, according to Atly; OpenTable lists a parking service. From the San Ysidro crossing, a taxi or ride-hail is the simplest way there. For the rest of the neighborhood, from CECUT to the Mercado Hidalgo, see our Zona Río guide.
