El Foro is the concert hall inside the old Palacio Jai Alai, the Moorish-looking building with the red neon “JAI ALAI” sign on Avenida Revolución between Calle 7a and Calle 8a. For decades the building was a fronton where Basque-style pelota players drew bettors from both sides of the border; today it is one of the few rooms in Tijuana where touring Latin pop, rock en espaƱol and nostalgia acts play, and the only one you can walk to from the bars of la Revu.
What’s there
Construction started in 1926, stalled through the Depression and the war, and the palace finally opened in 1947. Jai alai faded by the 1980s, the games stopped, and the building closed in 2002. Investors restored it and reopened it as El Foro in 2005, keeping the faƧade, the neon and the statue of a leaping player out front while rebuilding the interior as a show room. Inside, the long hall where the court once was is now the floor, with the stage at one end; configurations change by show, from rows of seats to standing general admission, so look at the seating map when you buy.
What to expect
The 2026 calendar gives a clear picture of the booking policy: Alex Ubago in May, the reggaeton veterans Flow in July, Air Supply in August, bolero singer Charlie Zaa and the Mexican rock band Elefante in October, and Brazilian crooner Daniel Boaventura in November. It is a room for artists with a catalog, which means a mostly adult crowd, couples and groups of friends, doors around 7 p.m. and the headliner on well after dark, usually on a Friday or Saturday.
Prices and entry
Tickets are sold by whichever promoter brings the show, so the seller changes from date to date: in 2026 shows here have sold through Ticketon, Super Boletos and Arema, with floor and front sections priced above the back rows. As a reference, Elefante’s October 2026 date started at MX$575 on Super Boletos. Buy from the seller named on the official poster and keep the e-ticket on your phone.
Getting there
Address: Av. Revolución 8341, between 7th and 8th streets, Zona Centro. From the San Ysidro pedestrian crossing it is about a 25-minute walk down Revolución, or a 10-minute taxi; from Zona RĆo, 10 minutes by car. Parking is the usual Zona Centro arrangement of paid lots and street spaces, and ride-hail is the easier way out after a show, since the avenue is full of cars looking for passengers. Hotel TicuĆ”n, on Calle 8a, is the closest hotel to the door.
Good to know
- Doors and start times are set per event by the promoter; most 2026 listings show doors at 7 p.m.
- The building sits in the middle of Revolución’s bar strip, so pre- and post-show drinks are a short walk in any direction.
- The neon sign is lit at night and the pelotari statue on a globe marks the entrance; you cannot miss it.
- Shows get postponed from time to time (a December 2026 date was marked postponed on the venue listing); check the status the day before you cross.
