Fuego Santo is a restaurant on the upper level of Plaza Península, the shopping center on the Vía Rápida Oriente, across from the mall’s food hall. Its own site sums up the concept as “cocina de mar & brasas”: seafood and cooking over embers, with fresh Baja California products, a focus on cuts and a selection of wines from the state. It is also one of the restaurants named in Tijuana Restaurant Week 2026, which runs Nov. 2 to 12, according to Siempre en la Noticia.
The food
The kitchen is led by chef David Alarcón, per the restaurant’s site and its OpenTable listing, which files the cooking under meat, with seafood and Latin American as secondary styles. The listing describes a kitchen built around ember-grilled dishes that let the ingredients speak, paired with signature cocktails, and the bar is run by Javier Platas, according to the site. The menu link on the restaurant’s site didn’t open for us, so we can’t list dishes or prices; OpenTable diners’ comments mention shrimp, bone marrow, an octopus taco and Wagyu cuts.
OpenTable also lists vegan options and takeout.
What to expect
OpenTable classes it as casual elegant, with a resort-casual dress code, and lists a full bar, a private room, an outdoor smoking area and a view. The restaurant’s site highlights its view, which it calls exceptional and romantic. The site gives the location as level 2 in one place and the third floor in another, so follow the signs to the food hall and look across from it.
Península Tijuana opened in September 2022 and devotes about 30 percent of its shopping center to food, drink and entertainment, including the food hall and a large patio area, according to Wikipedia. That makes Fuego Santo an easy add-on to a mall visit or a movie, and a sit-down alternative to the food hall.
Prices and entry
OpenTable puts it in its MX$500-and-over price range. Reservations can be made on OpenTable or through the restaurant’s site, and the listing names American Express, Mastercard and Visa as accepted cards. During Restaurant Week, participating restaurants serve set menus of two or three courses at 199, 399 or 799 pesos with a drink included, depending on the restaurant; the reports we found don’t say which tier Fuego Santo chose (see our Restaurant Week story).
Getting there
Plaza Península is on the Vía Rápida Oriente in Colonia Chapultepec Alamar, in the La Mesa borough, according to Wikipedia; the restaurant gives its address as Vía Rápida Ote. 15000, Col. Alamar. It’s a drive or ride-hail from Zona Río and downtown rather than a walk. The complex has about 3,400 parking spaces, including two underground levels, per Wikipedia, and OpenTable lists valet parking at the restaurant.
