Casa Tijuana is a restaurant in a mostly residential part of Lomas Hipódromo, at De las Ferias 5630, run as a project of chef Juan Cabrera, who also has Fonda Fina in Mexico City’s Roma neighborhood, according to Food & Pleasure. Its OpenTable listing, which calls it Casa Tijuana Project, describes Mexican cooking with Baja flavors built around corn and fresh local produce, served from breakfast to dinner.
The food
Breakfast is a big part of the draw. Food & Pleasure singled out the chilaquiles, enmoladas, eggs with machaca and lamb barbacoa, and on OpenTable, diners mention the enmoladas, a yellowtail (jurel) aguachile and pork sopes. Breakfast and brunch run daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday from 1 p.m., with cocktails and regional wines, per OpenTable.
From the seafood side of the menu, Food & Pleasure described the Almeja Reina, with yellowtail (jurel), a spicy clamato shot and a charred-chile aioli; a black aguachile; and two house clamatos, one with marinated shrimp and one with crispy beef cecina from León, Guanajuato. For dessert it recommended a white-corn cheesecake with peaches in syrup and cardamom ice cream, and from the bar the CeniZo, a tequila cocktail made with tortilla ash.
Lunch and dinner add an à la carte menu and a tasting menu. The menu posted on OpenTable, last updated March 12, 2026, prices the tasting menu at 990 pesos, with a wine pairing for 600, and lists dishes such as an abalone quesadilla, chiltamal, shrimp ravioli, charred cauliflower, a Denver steak and a tropical mango dessert; a separate offer on the same listing shows a seven-course version at 950 pesos, with the pairing at 550, so confirm the current price when you book.
The vibe
The house is furnished with antiques, vintage pieces and local crafts, and Food & Pleasure compared walking in to visiting “la casa de tu tía bohemia,” your bohemian aunt’s place. OpenTable lists two dining areas, on the ground floor and upstairs, a casual dress code and a moderate noise level, and notes that it’s dog friendly, with vegan and gluten-free options.
Prices and booking
OpenTable lists a price range of 310 to 500 pesos, and reservations can be made there. Tijuana Restaurant Week, which runs Nov. 2–12 with set menus at 199, 399 or 799 pesos, lists Casa Tijuana on its 799-peso menu page, though the site doesn’t show the dishes (see our Restaurant Week story). OpenTable lists American Express, Mastercard and Visa, and private events for 4 to 200 people, with quotes through 664 765 8258.
