Tijuana week ahead, Oct. 26–Nov. 1: Halloween on Revolución, Día de Muertos and the clock change

The last week of October packs Halloween and Día de Muertos into seven days, and it ends with the clocks going back: seasonal time ends in Baja California at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, El Imparcial reported, so the hour from 1 to 2 a.m. repeats. Here’s the week, day by day, with links to the details. Everything we track is on our calendar.

Monday to Wednesday

  • Monday, Oct. 26: cargo-trucking groups have called a national strike starting today, and Baja California’s carriers hadn’t decided whether to join as of Friday. If you’re driving the highways or crossing, check the news first (our story).
  • Monday to Wednesday: World Series Games 3 and 4 in Tampa Bay, plus Game 5 on Wednesday if needed, all at 5 p.m. Tijuana time. Tijuana’s Jonathan Aranda plays for the Rays (Game 1 recap).
  • Tuesday, Oct. 27: Tijuana’s first National Xoloitzcuintle Day party at Parque Canódromo Caliente, from 6 p.m., free with advance QR registration (details).
  • Wednesday, Oct. 28: Xolos visit América at the Estadio Banorte in Mexico City at 8 p.m. Baja California time, as reported by TV Azteca Baja California (our preview).

Thursday, Oct. 29: the altars open

Friday, Oct. 30

Saturday, Oct. 31: Halloween

  • The Orquesta de Baja California plays Sinfonía de terror y ritmo at 9 p.m. at the arch on Avenida Revolución, free and for all ages, according to Tijuana Eventos.
  • Downtown gets crowded: authorities estimated about 30,000 people in the Zona Centro last Halloween, and the city’s public safety department warned adults that wearing masks could bring fines of 1,085 to 3,257 pesos, Zeta reported in 2025. This year’s rules hadn’t been announced when we checked.
  • Club nights, all 18+: DJ Harvey’s Halloween party at Marko Disko, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. per its Resident Advisor listing (Tijuana Eventos lists a 9 p.m. start); Latigazo Halloween with Dinamarca at Bar Espina, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.; and Las Eras’ darkwave night at Black Box at 7 p.m.
  • Last night of CECUT’s Noches de Terror: The Return of the Living Dead at 8 p.m.
  • If the World Series goes the distance, Game 7 is at 5 p.m. Tijuana time.

Sunday, Nov. 1: clocks back, parade downtown

  • Seasonal time ends at 2 a.m., so check your phone before you head out.
  • The fourth Día de Muertos parade: the festival opens at 11 a.m. at the Mercado Benito Juárez, and the parade leaves Calle Quinta and Ocampo at 1 p.m. It’s free.
  • Last day of the Tijuana Book Fair at Parque Morelos and of CECUT’s Fiesta de las Ánimas.
  • Down the coast, Café en el Mar returns to the Rosarito Beach Hotel.
