Xolos visit Necaxa on Friday at 5 p.m. sitting sixth, and only a top-eight finish reaches the Liguilla

Xolos play their last road game of the Liga MX Apertura 2026 regular season on Friday, Nov. 6, against Necaxa at Estadio Victoria in Aguascalientes. Kickoff is at 5 p.m. Tijuana time, according to the club’s calendar and the season schedule Uniradio Informa published in June with Pacific times; FutbolTotal lists the same game at 7 p.m. central time.

Tijuana arrive sixth with 22 points and a +4 goal difference after their 3-3 draw at Monterrey, level on points with León and Santos, according to the table CNN en Español published after matchday 15. Monterrey (21 points) and Querétaro (20), both with a game in hand, Pumas (20) and Pachuca (19) are close behind.

The format leaves no margin: there is no play-in this season, and only the top eight reach the quarterfinals, ClaroSports explained. The series pair 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6 and 4 vs. 5 over two legs, and the better-placed team goes through on a tied aggregate. If the table stayed as it is, Xolos would face Cruz Azul.

After this round, the league pauses for international dates, and Xolos close the regular season at home against Atlante on Friday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. at Estadio Caliente. The quarterfinals are scheduled for Nov. 25 and 26 (first legs) and Nov. 28 and 29 (second legs), so a Tijuana playoff series would land on U.S. Thanksgiving week.
