Xolos de Tijuana came from behind twice to draw 3-3 at Monterrey on Saturday night at Estadio BBVA, in matchday 15 of Liga MX’s Apertura 2026. Jackson Porozo put Tijuana ahead early, heading in a corner kick, La Verdad reported, citing TV Azteca Deportes. Hugo Cuypers then scored twice for Monterrey, the first from the penalty spot, before Adonis Preciado tied it 2-2 in first-half stoppage time, according to XEU Deportes.
Shortly before the hour mark, Lucas Ocampos restored Monterrey’s lead with a bicycle kick set up by Oliver Torres. Preciado answered about three minutes later, finishing a pass from Ignacio Rivero for his second goal of the night and the final 3-3, XEU Deportes reported.
It was a direct fight for a place in the Liguilla: Claro Sports’ preview had Tijuana seventh with 21 points and Monterrey eighth with 20 before kickoff. After the draw, Xolos are sixth with 22 points from 15 games (five wins, seven draws and three losses), according to the club’s website. It’s their second straight draw, after Wednesday’s 1-1 at América (our story).
