K Tower is a six-story boutique hotel on Paseo de los Héroes in Zona Río, listed by the Hoteles Lucerna group among its properties. The operator presents it as an urban boutique hotel built around design, comfort and calm, and the roof is home to the restaurant Sushi en la Azotea. It was one of nine lodging winners in the first edition of Food and Travel México’s Hospitality Selection, which started in Baja California; the winners were reported in October 2026.

What’s there

According to the hotel’s page, rooms come in five types: Premium King and Premium Double rooms (34.65 square meters), a King Loft of 69.30 square meters with a separate space, the María Félix Suite (120 square meters) and the Marilyn Monroe Suite (235 square meters, with its own living room). Each room is decorated with large black-and-white photos of screen icons. Rooms have a minibar and a 60-inch TV, and the hotel lists a Nespresso coffee corner, a selection of wines and deli items, concierge service and an executive lounge for business guests. Expedia’s listing gives 2017 as the year the building went up.

Food and drink

The hotel names three places to eat and drink: Bar El Tinaco, K Lounge and Sushi en la Azotea, the sushi and cocktail spot on the roof. Kitchen hours, how to reserve and a rundown of the food are on our Sushi en la Azotea profile.

What to expect

The hotel is set up for both work trips and weekends: it has the executive lounge, takes inquiries for corporate and social events, and Expedia lists an outdoor pool. In 2024 the pool area hosted Oasys, a Sunday day club that TJ Gringo wrote about at the time; check the hotel’s social pages for what’s on now before planning around it.

Recognition

The first edition of Food and Travel México’s Hospitality Selection, with a gala at L.A. Cetto in the Valle de Guadalupe, recognized 52 Baja California projects in five categories. K Tower Urban Boutique Hotel was named in the lodging category, “Concepto de Hospedaje de Excelencia,” alongside Tijuana’s Grand Hotel Tijuana, Hotel Pueblo Amigo and Quartz Hotel & Spa, Uniradio Informa and San Diego Red reported on Oct. 9 and 10. San Diego Red adds that winners receive a plaque and that the recognition is valid for one year.

Prices and booking

The hotel doesn’t publish rates, and prices change by date, so check the booking page linked from its website or call (664) 633 7500. Expedia lists check-in from 3 p.m. to midnight and check-out before noon, says pets are not allowed, and lists free self-parking and valet parking on site.

The hotel is at Paseo de los Héroes 10902, in Zona Río (some listings add an “A” to the number). Expedia puts it about a 14-minute drive from Tijuana’s airport and within about 5 kilometers (3 miles) of the San Ysidro crossing. The CECUT and the Mercado Hidalgo are also in Zona Río.
