The vibe
Aruba Day Drink runs on the motto printed on its own website: “In day drinking we trust.” The doors open at 2 p.m., the night ends relatively early, and the house motto is “música, colores & pachanga.” As The 50 Best puts it, each cocktail is paired with a piece of music and a color; Food & Pleasure described drinks built around a color palette and a musical genre, many with a suggested song. The 50 Best’s listing describes the room as an art-deco-inspired space with lots of natural light, high ceilings and dark green tile, set away from the tourist-heavy center and close to the U.S. border.
It has also made the North America’s 50 Best Bars list: No. 16 in 2024 and No. 22 in 2025, and in 2026 it led the extended 51–100 list at No. 51, according to the list’s organizers. That ranking is theirs; TJ Gringo doesn’t rate bars.
What to expect
Expect a cocktail list that changes over time; when we checked, the bar’s website was promoting a new menu. The signature that both The 50 Best and Chilango wrote about is the Fruity Palooza, a cereal-milk-style drink built on sotol, cachaça and coconut, with spices, black tea and tropical fruit, garnished with Froot Loops. Food is bar snacks, and Chilango singled out the oversized tuna tostadas.
The bar also likes company behind the counter. Food & Pleasure reported in 2024 that it hosts rotating takeovers by well-known bars from around Mexico, with DJs and guest musicians in the evenings, and The 50 Best notes visits from bartenders and chefs from across the country. Afternoons are the main event, though, and the hours are built for them.
Prices and entry
None of the listings we checked mention a cover charge, and we haven’t seen a current printed price list, so look at the menu on the bar’s website or ask when you order. Mexico’s legal drinking age is 18; bring ID.
Getting there
Aruba is at Av. Andrés Quintana Roo 2106 in Zona Este, the district that borders downtown, Zona Centro, to the east. It is off the Avenida Revolución circuit, so use the map link above to plan your route. The bar’s phone number is +52 664 104 6721.
Good to know
- Hours: Sunday to Wednesday, 2 to 10 p.m.; Thursday to Saturday, 2 p.m. to midnight, per Chilango’s May 2026 guide. The bar’s website lists the same 2 p.m. opening.
- Because it opens early and closes early, it works as a first stop: cocktails in the afternoon, then dinner or a show elsewhere in the city.
- For an evening cocktail after Aruba closes, Minimal in Colonia Cacho stays open later.
- Instagram (@arubadaydrinkbar) is the place to look for guest shifts and changes to the schedule.
