Malbouche is a piano bar at Av. Revolución 1650 in Tijuana’s Zona Centro. It bills itself as a piano bar for an “ethereal encounter,” built on signature cocktails, carefully chosen music and a surreal, spacey atmosphere, and in a May 2026 interview with ERRR Magazine, Alfonso Muriedas, answering for the bar, called it a surreal piano bar designed to play with how guests sense the passing of time.
The vibe
The room is a big part of the draw. According to ERRR, it was built by craftsmen from Coatepec, Veracruz, using ferrocement, with work by Texas artist Jaime Zuverza and contributions from local artists and designers. The magazine places it in a building on a downtown alley. Muriedas told ERRR that the team took over the space in early 2025 after a previous project, Bloodlust, that took a similar approach, and that the place has a detail whose story few people know: “an elf that no one has ever seen.”
What to expect
Live piano is the core of the program, with piano sessions and pianist residencies, and cocktails are the other main focus, per ERRR. Asked what a first visit should look like, Muriedas suggested “a piano session with a martini in hand.” The bar’s link page lists separate bar and kitchen menus, and ERRR mentions ongoing collaborations with guests at the bar and in the kitchen, plus lighting and sound interventions; the menus didn’t open for us, so we can’t list dishes or prices.
The bar has also hosted ticketed concerts. Songkick lists shows by Concepción Huerta on April 10, 2026, J. Zunz on April 17 and Juan Cirerol on June 12, and Malbouche sold the Cirerol night on Eventbrite: a start-to-finish performance of his debut album, Ofrenda al Mictlán, for its 15th anniversary, from 9 to 11:30 p.m. Shazam lists the pop singer Fransia there on March 1, 2026, at 8 p.m. Neither Songkick nor the bar’s Eventbrite page showed upcoming concerts when we checked on Oct. 31.
Prices and entry
We didn’t find published hours, a cover charge or drink prices. Reservations go through a Riservi booking page linked from the bar’s link page, and concert tickets are sold on Malbouche’s Eventbrite page; the past concert pages we checked didn’t show ticket prices.
Getting there
The address is Av. Revolución 1650, Zona Centro, per the bar’s link page, HazTJ and Eventbrite. If you drive, the link page points to nearby parking at Sanborns, which it notes closes at 10 p.m., at the Jai Alai, at a lot on Calle 9 and Madero, and at Hotel Ticuán, on Calle 8a (Hidalgo) 8190. At night, a taxi or ride-hail is the easier option. For more downtown, see our Zona Centro guide, and for a room nearby, our Hotel Ticuán profile.
