Las Pulgas is the big regional-Mexican club on Avenida Revolución, the downtown strip a short walk from the San Ysidro pedestrian crossing. It is where Tijuana goes to dance to banda, norteño and corridos, in a building large enough to run several rooms and a concert hall at the same time. If you are coming from San Diego and want the local version of a night out rather than the tourist version, this is one of the first names people will give you.

The vibe

Las Pulgas has been part of Revolución for decades and does not pretend to be anything other than what it is: a loud, crowded dance club built around live music. The club’s own line is that it is the only place in town where artists play on two stages, and the layout backs that up. There are four named rooms. Salón Cachanilla and Salón Vaquero are the dance floors, with live groups and DJs leaning toward banda, norteño and regional hits. Salón Rojo is the smaller bar room that opens from midday, so it doubles as a daytime stop. Salón Teatro is the concert hall, used for touring acts and big dates like New Year’s Eve. On a busy Friday the crowd is mostly tijuanenses in their twenties and thirties, plus groups from across the border, and the energy on the floor is closer to a street party than a lounge.

What to expect

Fridays are concert nights. The club’s own calendar for the rest of 2026 lists regional acts such as Lupillo Rivera with Voces del Rancho, Beto y sus Canarios, Mi Banda El Mexicano and Los Novillos de la Sierra, plus a Halloween party, a Christmas Eve night and a New Year’s Eve party spread across the Vaquero and the Teatro. The Teatro also takes bookings outside the regional world now and then; the ska band Inspector played it in July 2026. Concert doors usually open around 10 p.m., and the rooms keep going well past 2 a.m. The crowd builds after 11 p.m., so arriving early gets you a table but not the full show. There is food on site, mostly tacos and snacks, and drink prices sit on the accessible end for a Tijuana club.

Prices and entry

Cover depends on the night and on the room. Concert tickets are sold at the box office and through ticketing sites, often with a presale price that rises on the day of the show. Tables can be reserved through the club’s events page or by phone, and bottle service is available at prices that are reasonable for a venue this size. Concerts are 18 and over, so bring a passport or another photo ID; you will need it for the walk back across the border anyway.

Getting there

The address is Av. Revolución 1127 in Zona Centro, on the southern stretch of the avenue, a couple of blocks from Calle Sexta. From the San Ysidro or PedWest pedestrian crossing it is a 20-minute-or-so walk down Revolución; a taxi or ride-hail from the border takes about ten minutes depending on traffic. If you drive, there are paid lots along Revolución and on the side streets, but on concert nights the simplest plan is to leave the car on the U.S. side and cross on foot.

Good to know

  • Check the events page before you go: the program changes Friday to Friday, and some shows use only the Teatro.
  • Table reservations: +52 (664) 685-9594 or relaciones.publicas@laspulgas.mx.
  • Salón Rojo opens from noon every day if you want a drink before the dance floors open.
  • Midweek options: the Vaquero opens Wednesdays and the Cachanilla from Thursday.
  • Eric’s visit is written up in his Las Pulgas review.
