A practical base with free parking on Agua Caliente

City Express Plus by Marriott Tijuana is a 156-room hotel, according to Expedia, on Bulevar Agua Caliente in colonia Calete, and it’s part of the Marriott Bonvoy program. It’s a practical base rather than a destination: Marriott’s page lists free continental breakfast, free on-site parking and a 24-hour front desk, and guest reviews on Expedia run through late October 2026.

What’s there

Breakfast is a continental spread (fruit, pastries and sliced bread, cereal, yogurt, cheeses, cold cuts, juice, milk, coffee and tea) from 6 to 9 a.m. on weekdays and 7 to 10 a.m. on weekends, with an à la carte breakfast for an extra charge, according to Marriott, which also lists two on-site restaurants, including Café Plus. Marriott lists a gym open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Expedia instead mentions access to a nearby health club), meeting rooms, a business center, a game room, laundry and room service, plus accessible rooms with roll-in showers. Expedia describes four room types of about 280 to 285 square feet (one king, one queen, two queens, or a superior king with a sofa bed; the last two sleep four), with pillowtop mattresses and rainfall showers, and says a shopping center is attached to the hotel.

What to expect

Recent Expedia reviews, from July through late October 2026, mostly mention cleanliness, friendly staff and a location near shops and restaurants; one guest reported weak Wi-Fi in a room at the far end of the hotel. Wi-Fi is free for Marriott Bonvoy members who book directly, according to Marriott, and Expedia lists free in-room Wi-Fi. The hotel is non-smoking, staff speak Spanish and English, and there’s no airport shuttle, per Marriott, which does list complimentary local transfers.

Prices and booking

Rates change by date. When we checked, Expedia showed a starting price of about US$93 for one night for two adults on Nov. 1, 2026, taxes and fees included. Check-in is from 3 p.m. and check-out at 1 p.m., and you must be 18 to check in, per Marriott; Expedia adds that check-in ends at midnight, with no after-hours arrivals. Dogs are allowed, one per room and up to 15 kilograms, with a vaccination card and a leash; Marriott lists a nonrefundable fee of $350 a night without naming the currency (in Mexico, $ usually means pesos), while Expedia shows 378 pesos per pet per night.

Getting there

The hotel is at Bulevar Agua Caliente 9985, colonia Calete, postal code 22044, per Marriott, whose page describes the area as Zona Río; we list it with Agua Caliente / Hipódromo because it sits on the boulevard, near the Club Campestre. Expedia puts Plaza Landmark about a 3-minute walk away, Paseo Chapultepec about 12 minutes on foot, CECUT about a 5-minute drive and Tijuana’s airport about 19 minutes by car. Expedia also lists Estadio Caliente nearby, and Hyatt Place Tijuana and the Grand Hotel Tijuana are on the same boulevard.
