Hotel Palacio Azteca is a hotel on Bulevar Cuauhtémoc Sur, in Colonia Dávila, about a 14-minute walk from the Plaza Río mall, according to Expedia. Wyndham lists it as Hotel Palacio Azteca Tijuana, part of its Trademark collection, while Expedia’s listing shows the name Wyndham Garden Tijuana Palacio Azteca. Expedia counts 201 rooms.
What’s there
Wyndham’s page lists two places to eat and drink: Ixchel, a restaurant serving Mexican food with Mediterranean and Asian influences, open daily from 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., which also handles room service, and Bar Agave, open daily from 3 to 11 p.m., with cocktails, tequila, mezcal and light tapas. The hotel also has an outdoor pool, a garden, a 24-hour gym with on-call spa services, free Wi-Fi, a tour desk, a business center and laundry service, per Wyndham. For groups, it lists about 307 square meters of meeting space across four venues, with room for up to 572 people in a conference setup or 400 at a banquet.
What to expect
It’s a city hotel set up for both business and leisure stays: the meeting rooms and business center cover conferences and banquets, while the pool, garden and bar give you somewhere to unwind. Expedia says the pool is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Pets can stay in designated rooms for an extra fee, according to Wyndham, and Expedia lists that fee as 668 pesos per pet, per day. The hotel is non-smoking, per Wyndham.
Prices and booking
Neither Wyndham nor Expedia shows a fixed rate, and prices change by date, so compare the hotel’s Wyndham page with booking sites. Check-in starts at 3 p.m. and check-out is at noon, according to Expedia. Breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi are free: Wyndham calls it a hot breakfast, while Expedia lists a continental one. Expedia says both self-parking and valet are free, and lists a 24-hour front desk.
Getting there
The hotel is at Blvd. Cuauhtémoc Sur 213, Col. Dávila. Wyndham puts it about nine miles from Tijuana International Airport and offers a 24-hour airport shuttle; Expedia describes the shuttle as free on request and the drive to the airport as about 13 minutes, so arrange your ride with the hotel ahead of time. On foot, Expedia estimates about 14 minutes to Plaza Río and about 17 minutes to the CECUT and to Avenida Revolución. For the San Ysidro crossing, Wyndham says the border is minutes away but gives no travel time, so plan on a taxi or ride-hail.
