Tecate Península takes over the esplanade of Estadio Caliente next Saturday, Oct. 24, and the festival’s information page spells out the rules for getting in. The eTicket listing gives a noon start, and the festival says the day runs until approximately 1:30 a.m. Sunday. When we checked on Saturday, Oct. 17, set times and the site map still weren’t posted; the festival says the map will be added soon.
The festival’s lineup page lists Caifanes, Interpol, Panteón Rococó, Enjambre, Siddhartha, Los Auténticos Caligaris, Julieta Venegas, Cuco and Ximena Sariñana, among others; our earlier preview has more on the bill.
What the festival allows
- No re-entry. Once you leave, you can’t come back in, so bring everything you need. Entry usually closes three hours before the last show.
- Bags: small ones only, up to 30 x 30 cm. Fanny packs, phones, power banks, sunscreen, hats, empty thermoses and non-professional cameras are allowed.
- Not allowed: outside food or drinks, umbrellas, cigarettes and vapes, aerosols, glass, cans, coolers, chairs, blankets, tents, professional camera or audio gear and pets, among other items. Smoking isn’t allowed.
- Inside: food trucks, free water stations, medical points and official merch stands.
- Ages: the festival is all ages, and children need a ticket from age 3, according to eTicket and the festival’s FAQ (another section of the festival’s page says children under 5 get in free, so confirm before you buy). To drink alcohol you must be 18 and carry official photo ID.
- Payment: the festival’s page mentions cards and digital payments in one section and cash and cards in another, so carry some of each.
Tickets and getting there
Official sellers are eTicket and Front Gate Tickets, with a limit of eight tickets per person on eTicket. In Tijuana, physical outlets include Black Box (Av. Revolución 1217, int. 2; Monday to Thursday 2 to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 2 to 6 p.m.), the Sanborns stores on Avenida Revolución and in Zona Río (daily 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and Plaza Paseo del Parque (unit Q-12, daily 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.). The organizers warn that parking will be limited and recommend arriving by ride-hail or other transportation.
