Club Tijuana and Reebok have released a new alternate jersey for the Xolos, and this one leans into Día de Muertos. The kit is all black, with orange accents meant to evoke cempasúchil, the marigold of Day of the Dead altars, and a geometric pattern inspired by the Itztépetl, the obsidian mountain that is one of the trials on the souls’ road to the Mictlán, the underworld of Mexica tradition, El Imparcial reported. At the heart of the concept is the xoloitzcuintle, the dog the team is named after and, in that tradition, the guide of souls. The club summed the kit up as sitting “entre obsidiana y cempasúchil” (between obsidian and marigold), according to ADN40, which showed the Xolos’ Gilberto Mora modeling it. Mora turned 18 on Oct. 14, SanDiegoRed noted.
The collection went on sale Oct. 13 and includes two versions of the jersey, the Pro Player cut worn on the field and a regular-fit Match version, plus a cap and sandals. It’s sold at Reebok.mx, the club’s XoloShop, the Reebok x Xolos container and Innovasport stores in Tijuana. On Oct. 16, XoloShop listed the men’s black alternate Match jersey at MX$1,799, or MX$1,949 with a name and number, and the Pro version at MX$2,699, or MX$2,849 personalized.
According to the launch materials reported by El Imparcial, the kit’s on-field debut is planned for matchday 12 of the Apertura 2026, and it is also planned for more Club Tijuana matches in October. Matchday 12 is tonight’s home game against Puebla at Estadio Caliente, which kicks off at 9 p.m. Central Mexico time, 8 p.m. in Tijuana, and ADN40 reported that the team could wear it tonight.
