Hotel Nelson is a 90-room hotel on Avenida Revolución in Tijuana’s Zona Centro, about a minute’s walk from the Tijuana Arch, according to Expedia. Its ground floor is home to the Nelson Bar, the cantina whose branding says it has been serving since 1950. Guest reviews on Expedia dated as recently as Oct. 20, 2026, show the hotel taking guests this fall, and Tijuana en Línea reported on Oct. 8, 2026, that authorities had installed the Zona Centro’s first “Kiosko Digital,” a point for reporting administrative violations or irregular charges by public officials, at the hotel.
What’s there
Expedia lists free WiFi in all 90 rooms, a 24-hour front desk, daily housekeeping, luggage storage, a safe at the front desk, concierge services, local meal delivery and a cooked-to-order breakfast for an extra charge; the property is smoke-free and doesn’t accept pets. Downstairs, the Nelson Bar pours beer, liquor and cocktails and serves snacks, according to its website. Atly describes the building as an old hotel with classic decor.
What to expect
The draw is the location. Expedia puts Avenida Revolución and the arch about a minute away on foot, the Tijuana Wax Museum about two minutes away, the El Chaparral border crossing about 14 minutes’ walk away and CECUT about 18 minutes on foot. Recent Expedia reviews praise how convenient it is; others, from September 2026, mention an elevator that wasn’t working and noise from karaoke, so if stairs or sleep are a concern, ask about both when you book.
Prices and booking
Rates change by date, so compare booking sites before you reserve. Expedia lists check-in from 3 p.m. and check-out at noon, and breakfast costs extra. There’s no on-site parking listed: Expedia says there’s free parking nearby, though none at the hotel, and our Nelson Bar profile points to a paid lot about a block away. We didn’t find a hotel website, but Atly lists a phone number, +52 664 685 4302.
Getting there
The address is Av. Revolución 721, Zona Centro, per Expedia, Atly and the Nelson Bar’s site. From the El Chaparral crossing it’s about 0.8 miles on foot, Expedia says, and Tijuana’s airport is about 20 minutes away by car. Walking from the San Ysidro side, Expedia estimates roughly 23 minutes from the San Ysidro Transit Center, not counting time at the crossing, and it lists Las Americas Premium Outlets about 1.3 miles away.
