- When: Sunday, November 1, 8:00 am
- Where: Parque Esperanto, Av. Hermosillo, Fracc. Sonora, Presa Rodríguez
- Entry: MX$300 (Eventbrite)
A recreational 5K for Día de Muertos starts at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, at Parque Esperanto, on Avenida Hermosillo in the Presa Rodríguez area, according to Tijuana Eventos. You can run, jog or walk it, with women’s and men’s categories, and the race is open to all ages. It’s organized by Crowe and the Consejo de Desarrollo Económico de Tijuana (CDT), and money raised from registrations will support Casa Hogar Niños con Fe, a children’s home for kids in vulnerable situations.
Entry is MX$300, plus service charges, sold through Eventbrite, and the listing says spots are limited. The kit includes a commemorative shirt, an alebrije-design medal, a race bib, hydration on the course and entry into raffles. Clocks fall back an hour at 2 a.m. that morning, so double-check your alarm (our story), and confirm packet pickup details with the organizers.
