Calacas, a musical tribute to the engraver José Guadalupe Posada, comes to CECUT’s Sala de Espectáculos on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m., according to Tijuana Eventos. Written and directed by Raquel Presa for the company Entremares Teatro, it puts calaveras and La Catrina on stage to celebrate the Day of the Dead with songs, offerings and humor, mixing theater and music. It’s part of CECUT’s Fiesta de las Ánimas, and the listing names Baja California’s Secretaría de Cultura as organizer.

General admission is 250 pesos plus service charges, sold at the CECUT box office and on the center’s ticket site, and the show is for all ages, per Tijuana Eventos. Go early to browse the festival, which runs until 8 p.m., and find more Day of the Dead plans on the calendar.
