The Old Globe brings a free, 80-minute ‘Macbeth’ to CECUT on Thursday, Nov. 5

San Diego’s Old Globe is bringing Shakespeare’s Macbeth across the border. The free performance is on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m. at the Centro Cultural Tijuana (CECUT), one of the public stops on the company’s Globe for All tour, according to the Old Globe’s tour page. The production is directed by Marcela Lorca and runs one hour and 20 minutes with no intermission.

This year’s tour runs from Oct. 27 to Nov. 21, with free public performances at schools, libraries and community spaces around San Diego County plus the Tijuana date, the tour page shows; BroadwayWorld’s announcement of the tour also lists admission as free. In Tijuana, the show plays the stage of CECUT’s Sala de Espectáculos, according to Tijuana Eventos, which names Baja California’s culture department (Secretaría de Cultura) as organizer and classifies it for teens and adults.

Before you go

  • Seats: the Old Globe says reservations aren’t required for its free public performances, while Tijuana Eventos mentions limited capacity and an attendance registration through a QR code on the official poster. Arriving early is the safe bet.
  • Language: neither listing says whether the Tijuana performance is in English or Spanish.
  • Parking: the tour page notes paid parking in CECUT’s lots.

The date is on our event listing, directions are on our CECUT profile, and more of the month is on the calendar.
