The Casa de la Cultura Tijuana marks its 49th anniversary with a free concert on its emblematic front staircase on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 6 p.m. Tiko’s Big Band, the resident ensemble directed by Gustavo Valdez, plays with guest singers, according to the city’s announcement as reported by Uniradio Informa and Tijuana Última Hora.
Entry is free, and the city is using the night to raise money to rehabilitate and equip the 1930 building, so contributions are welcome. The Casa is at Calle Lisboa 5 and Avenida París in Colonia Altamira. More background in our news story.
