Tijuana Zonkeys hold dance-team auditions Nov. 7 at Arena Zonkeys; sign up before Nov. 6

The Tijuana Zonkeys, the city’s professional basketball team in the CIBACOPA league, are holding auditions for their two dance and entertainment squads ahead of the 2027 season, Diario Tijuana reported on Oct. 13. Both calls are on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Arena Zonkeys: the ZonkeyGirls at 8 a.m. and the Zombras at 1 p.m.

Applicants must be 18 or older and register before Nov. 6 on the team’s casting page. The club says it wants people with a passion for dance who enjoy interacting with the crowd. The ZonkeyGirls call asks for stage presence, maturity, power, precision and solid technical training, along with respect and teamwork; the Zombras call is for dancers who can work as a team, learn choreography, freestyle and handle several styles. Choreographer Emma Gutiérrez, who has a degree in dance with a focus on contemporary, leads this stage of the selection.

The online form asks for a face photo and a full-body photo, height, T-shirt size, the type of dance they do and their experience; social media links are optional. The announcement did not mention a fee.
