The search operation started near the Tijuana-Rosarito highway and expanded from there using tools like drones, shovels, and metal rods. A canine unit assisted in surveying the area. During the search, various items were found including a cell phone, a shell casing, and clothing, along with the skeletal remains. The age and gender of the remains could not be determined at the scene and DNA analysis will be conducted.

Following the discovery, an incident report was filed, and the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Crimes Against Life, Forensic Services, and the Medical Examiner’s Office were notified to proceed with the necessary investigations.
