Rosarito’s tourism sector is facing a challenging Spring Break in 2025, with local businesses reporting a significant decline in American visitors compared to previous years. Gustavo Torres Ramírez, a key figure in the local business community and a hotel owner, highlighted a concerning 15% drop in hotel occupancy rates from last year despite numerous initiatives to attract tourists. Torres Ramírez believes that economic instability in the United States could be causing potential visitors to reconsider their vacation plans. Concerns about a looming recession seem to be encouraging many to opt for savings over leisure, as evidenced by reduced activity on booking websites like Booking.com and Expedia.
Nevertheless, Rosarito is not holding back on its efforts to draw in visitors, continuing to host an array of exciting Spring Break events. One of the most notable venues, Papas&Beer, is hosting four weekends of energetic festivities featuring performances from well-known artists such as Diplo, Sexyy Red, Wiz Khalifa, and Lil Jon. These events promise lively pool parties, open bars, and beachfront concerts to entice attendees.
Additionally, the Spring Break Bike Fest 2025 is scheduled for March 21st to 23rd at Coco Beach, offering an action-packed itinerary that includes motorcycle stunts and live performances by artists like G. Perico and WC “The Shadiest One”. Guests can also enjoy access to multiple clubs with open bars.
Looking ahead, Rosarito’s tourism industry is hopeful that the upcoming Tianguis Turístico in April will provide a much-needed economic boost.
