Get Ready for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th

Rosarito is gearing up for an exciting fishing event on March 30th as “Playa El Bebé” hosts the first round of Baja California’s state fishing competition. Anticipation is high as the tournament, part of the official SEPESCA BC calendar and supported by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association, is expected to draw a large crowd of anglers from the state and Southern California. Last year, nearly 150 participants competed, showcasing the event’s growing popularity.

Organized by the TJ Fishing Club, led by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno, this tournament marks the beginning of a series of three selective beach fishing events. The competition day kicks off early with registration at 5:00 AM, followed by the start of fishing at 7:00 AM. Participants will have until 1:00 PM to weigh in their catches, with various categories up for prizes, including an exciting raffle and delicious local fish dishes.

For those interested in joining the fun, registration details, costs, rules, and prize information can be obtained by contacting the organizers via phone or email, or visiting their website. Financial backing from SEPESCA BC’s Sport Fishing head, Victor Hugo Méndez, aims to ensure the event’s success.

Competitors can sign up on the day or pre-register at specified locations in Ensenada or La Gloria. Following Rosarito, the next tournament rounds are set for April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada and July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín. Each event offers anglers a chance to qualify for the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship in Jalisco this September.
