Baja California’s Secretary of Citizen Security, Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, confirmed that one complaint is being handled by the State Attorney General’s Office, while another is with the Internal Control Body of the security department. “We’ve received two formal complaints, and an investigation is ongoing,” Carrillo Rodríguez stated.

To ensure the integrity of the investigation and for the safety of the officers, they have been reassigned. As it stands, there is no concrete evidence connecting them to the allegations. Carrillo Rodríguez explained, “Although there is no definitive evidence, we are conducting a thorough investigation, and the officers have been temporarily reassigned.”

Since the state police’s takeover on March 7th, they have been overseeing Rosarito’s security operations.
