**Elite Athletes Ready for Guadalajara Half Marathon**
The Guadalajara Half Marathon 2025, sponsored by Electrolit and Granvita, is set to dazzle with a line-up of international running stars this coming Sunday, February 23rd. The Platinum Label event will attract 21,000 runners. David Prado Arredondo, General Director of Comude Guadalajara, expressed excitement during the presentation of elite athletes at La Perla Life Center, welcoming authorities, runners, sponsors, and visitors.
“This event is vital for Guadalajara, as it puts our city on the global map,” Prado Arredondo stated, referencing directives from Guadalajara’s Mayor Verónica Delgadillo to increase the city’s international prominence. He urged participants and spectators alike to enjoy the event, which coincides with celebrations for Guadalajara’s 483rd anniversary.
Notable figures supporting the event included Francisco Borao, President of the International Association of Marathons and Distance Races, Antonio Lozano Pineda, President of the Mexican Federation of Athletics, and Fernando Ortega Ramos, General Director of CODE Jalisco. Also in attendance were Óscar Taquechi Reveles, Director of Events and Sponsorships for Electrolit MX, and Carlos Restelli Santoscoy, Marketing Director of Granvita.
Among the renowned athletes present was Kenya’s Amos Kipruto, winner of the 2022 London Marathon and third place in the 2024 Chicago Marathon. He will be joined by compatriots Antony Kimtai and Rhonzas Lokitam Kilimo, the latter having clinched the 21K Guadalajara title in 2022. Representing Mexico are Juan Luis Barrios, a two-time winner of the 21K, and José Luis Santana MarÃn from Jalisco.
In the women’s category, Kenya’s Helah Jelagat Kiprop, alongside her teammates Judy Jelagat, Visiline Jepkesho, and Janet Ruguru, will compete. Local favorite Isabel Oropeza Vázquez, who dominated the Guadalajara Marathon in 2024 and the Monterrey Marathon in 2023, will also participate.
The starting gun for this celebratory sporting event will fire at 6:20 AM, with both starting and finishing points located at Glorieta Minerva.
