**Get Excited for the “El BebĂ©” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th**
Fishing enthusiasts, mark your calendars! “Playa El BebĂ©” in Rosarito will kick off the first round of Baja California’s state fishing competition this Sunday, March 30th. Following last year’s successful turnout of nearly 150 anglers from across the state and Southern California, this year’s event promises to be even bigger and better.
The tournament is part of the official calendar of SEPESCA BC and is organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association. Hosted by the TJ Fishing Club, and spearheaded by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno, this event is the first of three selective beach fishing tournaments qualifying participants for the State Championship.
The day’s schedule starts bright and early at 5:00 AM for participant registration, with fishing activities officially beginning at 7:00 AM. The competition will wrap up with a weigh-in closing at 1:00 PM, ensuring everyone in line by that time can weigh their catch.
Participants can look forward to prizes in various categories including children’s, women’s, mojarra, and other species. The event will also feature raffles and delicious local fish delicacies.
For those interested in joining, registration details, costs, rules, and prize information can be obtained by calling 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173, or by emailing tjfishingclub@gmail.com. Additional details can also be found on the club’s website.
In support of this exciting event, Victor Hugo Méndez, head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, has granted financial aid to the organizers to lighten the load of event expenses.
Excited to join the fun? You can register on the event day or pre-register at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or at the Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.
Mark your calendars for the upcoming rounds of the state competition on April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada and July 20th at Playa El PabellĂłn in San QuintĂn. Top-performing anglers at these events will earn the opportunity to represent Baja California in the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship, slated for September 19-20 at Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
