**Mark Your Calendars for the Upcoming “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito on March 30th**
Fishing enthusiasts, get ready! Rosarito’s renowned “Playa El Bebé” is gearing up to host the first round of Baja California’s state fishing competition this Sunday, March 30th. Anticipation is high with organizers expecting massive participation after last year’s success, which saw nearly 150 anglers from all over the state and Southern California gather for a day of friendly competition.
This event is part of the official calendar managed by SEPESCA BC and is supported by the state administration. Organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association, the tournament is being hosted by the TJ Fishing Club, represented by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.
It’s the first of three exclusive beach fishing tournaments where participants can qualify for the State Championship. The day will start bright and early at 5:00 AM with angler registration, and the fishing officially kicks off at 7:00 AM. The weigh-in concludes at 1:00 PM, allowing anyone in line by that time to have their catch considered.
Winners in various categories, including children’s, women’s, mojarra, and other species, will be awarded prizes at the end of the tournament. Besides, there will be exciting raffles and delightful meals featuring locally caught fish.
For those eager to participate, you can find detailed information about registration, fees, rules, and prizes by reaching out at 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173, or via email at tjfishingclub@gmail.com. More comprehensive details are also available on the club’s website. With support from Victor Hugo Méndez, SEPESCA BC’s head of Sport Fishing, financial aid has been provided to cover event costs, ensuring a smooth and successful event.
Registration options are flexible; you can sign up on the day of the event or pre-register at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or the Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.
Following this event, the competition will continue with two more rounds: on April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada by Club Pura Vida, and on July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín with Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín as hosts. Successful anglers from these tournaments will have the exclusive chance to represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship, scheduled for September 19-20 in Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
