**Get Ready for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th**
Rosarito’s scenic Playa El Bebé will host the highly anticipated first round of Baja California’s state fishing tournament on Sunday, March 30th. With participants from across the state and Southern California expected to join, it promises to be a day full of competitive excitement. Last year’s event attracted nearly 150 enthusiastic anglers.
This fishing tournament is an official event in the SEPESCA BC calendar, overseen by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association, and backed by Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda’s administration. This year, the TJ Fishing Club, led by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno, has the honor of organizing the event.
The tournament is the first in a series of three selective beach fishing competitions that will qualify participants for the State Championship. Anglers can begin registering at 5:00 AM, with the official start of fishing set for 7:00 AM. The weigh-in will conclude at 1:00 PM, allowing anglers in line by that time to participate.
Prizes will be awarded in various categories including children’s, women’s, mojarra, and others, with raffles and locally sourced fish dishes also part of the day’s highlights.

The next rounds of the tournament series will be on April 27th in Ensenada at Sunset Beach, organized by Club Pura Vida, and on July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín hosted by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. Successful anglers will qualify to represent Baja California in the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship, which is set for September 19-20 at Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
