**OEFA Flag Football Tournament Set to Kick Off**

The Student Organization of American Football (OEFA) in Baja California is preparing to host its inaugural flag football tournament, set to honor one of its founders, César Nafarrate Orozco. This exciting event will see participation from ten institutions as it marks the beginning of a new tradition in the region.

According to OEFA Commissioner Argenis García, the tournament will feature a Juvenile category with both male and female divisions for those born in 2009 and 2010. The Varsity category will be exclusively for females, targeting participants born in 2006, 2007, and 2008.

The participating schools include Preparatoria Federal Lázaro Cárdenas with three teams, Instituto México also fielding three teams, and both Universidad Xochicalco campuses in Tijuana and Mexicali contributing one team each. Universidad Iberoamericana is making a comeback with two teams, while Cobach Nueva Tijuana stands out with the largest contingent of five teams.

Additional contributors are Cobach La Mesa with three teams, Club Galgos and Colegio Argentino Los Pibes (CALP) from Ensenada each bringing two teams, and CETYS Campus Tijuana with their participation.

Matches will be held on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with venues rotating among the participating institutions. The tournament consists of eight scheduled rounds, culminating in early December.

**Preparations Underway for La Milla Internacional Tijuana 2024**

Runners are gearing up for the final qualification sessions ahead of the La Milla Internacional Tijuana 2024. The event will take place at the CREA Sports Unit track on Friday, October 11. Supervised by the Tijuana Municipal Athletics League (LIMAT), the final checks require scheduling with both LIMAT and the Baja California State Athletics Association. For those from other states, a certification from the Mexican Federation of Athletics Associations (FMAA) is necessary. The qualifying time for women to compete is 5 minutes and 20 seconds, while men must beat a time of 4 minutes and 40 seconds.

As the anticipation builds, this prestigious race promises intense competition and a thrilling display of athletic prowess.

**Baja California’s Golden Success at National Cachibol Championship**

Teams from Baja California shone brightly at the sixth edition of the National Cachibol Championship held at the High-Performance Center. The female teams, Renegadas from Ensenada in the 40-49 age category and The Sextet from Tijuana in the 70 and over division, emerged victorious, securing gold medals for their outstanding performances.

The championship saw participation from 498 athletes representing twelve states across the nation, celebrating the spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship in this competitive event.
