**University of Tijuana to Launch New Degree Programs and a Master’s in 2025**
The University of Tijuana (UTT) is set to expand its academic offerings with the introduction of two new degree programs and a master’s course from 2025 onwards. Approved by Baja California’s State Commission for Higher Education Planning (COEPES), these new additions are expected to increase enrollment and provide fresh opportunities for local students.
The University’s rector, Master Salvador Morales Riubí, announced the upcoming launch that includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, a program in Higher University Technician and Engineering in Semiconductors, and a Master’s in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
The Rector highlighted that these educational programs have been carefully tailored to meet both current industrial demands and emerging technological trends. Thorough consultations with specialized groups ensured the alignment of curricula with labor market needs.
Students pursuing the Bachelor’s Degree in Education will begin their journey with a Higher University Technician course in English Language Teaching—a comprehensive two-year program—before proceeding to the bachelor’s degree. Meanwhile, the Higher University Technician and Engineering in Semiconductors is prioritized by the State Government and the Secretariat of Economy and Innovation. Its curriculum was developed with the active involvement of Tijuana’s academic community.
Additionally, the new master’s program in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering will join the University’s existing postgraduate offerings, complementing the Master’s in Industrial Process Management Engineering.
These academic expansions are part of a broader effort by the University to adapt to educational reforms and technological advancements, indicating a positive direction for Baja California’s academic and economic development.
