**IMDET Sets Stage for Tijuana International Mile 2024**
Following the conclusion of the qualifying rounds, the roster for the anticipated Tijuana International Mile 2024 has been finalized. This traditional athletic event, organized by the Municipal Institute of Sports (IMDET), will feature various categories of competition on Friday, October 25.
Activities are set to begin at 4 p.m., with the Elite category’s race slated for 6 p.m. Not only will spectators witness thrilling races, but they’ll also be treated to artistic performances during the final run and the subsequent awards ceremony. Carlos Eliazib King Ristori, Acting Officer for IMDET, highlighted the uniqueness of the 1,609-meter race, where 170 runners will compete this year.
The Elite category will host 7 female and 14 male athletes, all vying for top-five finishes to secure a share of the event’s prize money. The top five finishers in both the men’s and women’s Elite categories will receive prizes of 15,000, 10,000, 5,000, 3,000, and 1,500 pesos, respectively. In addition, promotional categories A, B, C, and D will be available, along with children’s and youth races, which cover distances of 800 and 600 meters.
Participants from the United States and various states across Mexico, including Durango, Jalisco, and Baja California, have registered for the competition, with local athletes from Ensenada and Playas de Rosarito also participating.
