**Two Sentenced in Tijuana for Violent Robbery of Businesses**

In Tijuana, two men have been sentenced to three years and eight months in prison for committing violent robberies in commercial establishments. The Tijuana Regional Prosecutor’s Office announced that Iván Daniel García Vázquez and Felipe Iván Carrillo Montaño were convicted of aggravated robbery after agreeing to shortened legal procedures.

On February 6, 2024, García Vázquez, along with an accomplice, used “moral violence” and a bladed weapon to threaten an Oxxo store employee in the Panamericano neighborhood, forcing him to hand over money from the cash register at around 9:13 PM. Meanwhile, on February 27, 2024, Carrillo Montaño was caught attempting to leave a Coppel store in Plaza 2000 with merchandise hidden in a backpack at about 7:35 PM.

In addition to his prison sentence, García Vázquez has been ordered to pay a fine and compensation for damages. Carrillo Montaño will serve the same prison term and has also received a fine along with the suspension of his civil and political rights.

The successful sentencing of these individuals was achieved through the efforts of the Robbery Investigation Units in Zona Centro and Mariano Matamoros, part of the Tijuana Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
