**Increased Drug Seizures in Tijuana in 2024**
Tijuana has witnessed a significant surge in drug-related arrests and seizures over the past year, reflecting a broader effort by local and federal law enforcement to tackle drug trafficking in the area. This increase comes amid heightened scrutiny on border regions, known for being hotspots in the narcotics trade. In recent months, authorities have intercepted numerous shipments attempting to cross into the United States, with methamphetamine being notably prevalent.
Moreover, collaborations between the Tijuana Police Department and federal agencies have intensified, resulting in more frequent arrests and the dismantling of several drug rings operating within the city. These actions are part of a broader strategy to curb the influence of organized crime and minimize drug-related crime and violence, benefiting both the local community and broader binational interests in maintaining safety and law enforcement cooperation along the U.S.-Mexico border.
