The Tijuana Zonkeys are welcoming back Cameron Mitchell for the 2025 season in the Mexican Basketball League, CIBACOPA. This news was confirmed by the team’s sports director, Joel Reynoso.

In the 2024 season, Mitchell proved to be a vital asset for the Zonkeys, helping them reach the semifinals. He participated in 43 games, averaging 29.9 minutes per game, and contributed an impressive 19.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.

Before rejoining the Zonkeys, Mitchell was part of the National Professional Basketball League (LNBP), where he played for El Calor de Cancún. During his stint there, he played 14 games, averaging 11.6 points, 9.8 assists, and 7.1 rebounds.

Mitchell will be joining forces with Dominican players Miguel Simón and Richard Bautista, who have already been announced as part of the Zonkeys’ roster. The team has been in pre-season training for over two weeks now at the Arena Zonkeys under the guidance of coach Esteban Gatti and his technical team.

To prepare for the upcoming season, the Zonkeys have scheduled three practice games. Two will be against Ángeles de Ciudad de México, taking place in La Paz, Baja California, with another match against 4th Sports and Entertainment at the Arena Zonkeys slated for March 1st. The 2025 season kicks off on March 7th in Sinaloa, and the inaugural series at the Arena Zonkeys is set for March 14th and 15th against Venados de Mazatlán.
