**Four State Police Officers Temporarily Removed in Rosarito Amid Complaints**
In Rosarito, four officers from the State Police have been temporarily taken off duty following the submission of two formal complaints. These actions follow the state police’s takeover of local security on March 7th. According to Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, Baja California’s Secretary of Citizen Security, one complaint was directed to the State Attorney General’s Office, and another was sent to the Internal Control Body of their department.
Carrillo Rodríguez mentioned, “We’ve received complaints about the state police. Thus far, there are two formal cases under investigation.” There are also allegations on social media being looked into, though no further formal reports have been made.
**Officers Relocated Pending Investigation**
Regarding the four officers’ status, Carrillo Rodríguez confirmed they have been reassigned for safety reasons while the Internal Control Body pursues an investigation. “There’s currently no evidence directly linking them to the accusations, but they’ve been reassigned during our investigation,” he added.
Since assuming charge of Rosarito’s security, the state police replaced 264 municipal officers who are now undergoing a rigorous vetting process, including psychological, medical, and toxicology tests, alongside social and polygraph checks. Moreover, their firearms are under scrutiny for serial numbers and code verifications.
