Four officers from the State Police in Rosarito have been temporarily removed from their duties following the submission of two formal complaints against them. These complaints have emerged shortly after the state police assumed control over local security on March 7th.

Baja California’s Secretary of Citizen Security, Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, confirmed that one complaint is being handled by the State Attorney General’s Office, while the other is being investigated by the Internal Control Body of the security department. “There have been individuals stepping forward with accusations against the state police. At this stage, we have two formal cases under review,” Carrillo Rodríguez explained.

Despite some allegations surfacing on social media, Carrillo Rodríguez pointed out that no further formal reports have yet been filed.

In terms of actions taken, he clarified that the four officers in question have been reassigned to different duties for their own safety while the Internal Control Body conducts a thorough investigation. “Currently, there’s no concrete evidence linking these officers to the accusations, but they have been relocated during the inquiry process,” he added.

Since the state police assumed charge on March 7th, they have been conducting comprehensive assessments on the 264 municipal officers.
