### Four State Police Officers Temporarily Reassigned in Rosarito Amid Complaints

In Rosarito, four officers from the State Police have been temporarily removed from their positions following two formal complaints since the state police assumed control of local security on March 7th. According to Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, the Secretary of Citizen Security for Baja California, one complaint was lodged with the State Attorney General’s Office, while another was directed to the security department’s Internal Control Body.

“We’ve received complaints about the state police, resulting in two formal investigations,” Carrillo Rodríguez stated. He also highlighted that although allegations are surfacing on social media, no further formal reports have been submitted.

Carrillo Rodríguez clarified that the officers have been reassigned for their safety while the Internal Control Body proceeds with its investigation. “There is no concrete evidence against them yet, but they’re being relocated as a precautionary measure,” he said.

Since March 7th, the State Police have taken charge of safety in Rosarito, replacing 264 municipal officers who are currently undergoing rigorous evaluations that include psychological, medical, and toxicology tests, as well as social background checks and polygraph exams. Even their firearms are being verified for serial numbers and codes.

While it’s not common to see such accountability, sometimes justice occurs unexpectedly. This could mark the start of a crucial cleanup in Rosarito’s security forces.
