Get Ready for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th

Rosarito is buzzing with excitement as it prepares to host the prestigious “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament at Playa El Bebé on March 30th. This event marks the first round of the state fishing competition series in Baja California and promises to attract a large number of anglers from around the region and Southern California.

This tournament is part of the official calendar supported by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association in conjunction with local government efforts. Spearheaded by the TJ Fishing Club, represented by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno, the competition aims to bring together fishing enthusiasts for a day of skill, sport, and community.

The event will kick off bright and early, with registration starting at 5:00 AM. Anglers will cast their lines starting at 7:00 AM, with the weigh-in concluding at 1:00 PM. There are various categories to compete in, including children’s, women’s, mojarra, and other species. The day will also feature raffles and fresh local fish delicacies.

Victor Hugo Méndez, the head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, has provided financial support to make this event a grand success. For those keen to compete, pre-registration is available at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada and the Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria, with the option to sign up on the day of the event.

Following this tournament, the next rounds will be held on April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada, hosted by Club Pura Vida, and on July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín, organized by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. Top performers will advance to represent Baja California in the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship on September 19-20 in Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
