### Exciting Times Ahead: The “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th

Get your fishing gear ready, as Rosarito’s “Playa El Bebé” is set to host the opening of Baja California’s state fishing competition this Sunday, March 30th. Organizers are anticipating a strong turnout, following the success of last year’s tournament which attracted nearly 150 competitors from across the state and Southern California.

This competition is part of the official schedule of SEPESCA BC and is backed by Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda’s administration. The Baja California Fishing Clubs Association is coordinating the event, with TJ Fishing Club under the leadership of Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno at the helm.

Being the first of three qualifying beach fishing tournaments for the State Championship, participants will need to prepare for an early start. Registration begins at 5:00 AM, while the fishing officially commences at 7:00 AM. The competition will end with a weigh-in at 1:00 PM, though anglers in line at this time will still get their chance.

The day will culminate with prize presentations for categories including children’s, women’s, mojarra, among others. There are also raffles and local fish dishes to enjoy. Interested anglers can gather more information on registration, fees, rules, and awards by reaching out via phone at 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173, or by emailing tjfishingclub@gmail.com.

Victor Hugo Méndez, head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, has extended financial support to aid the event’s execution. Participants can register on the day of the tournament, or pre-register at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.

Looking beyond this event, the competition progresses to Sunset Beach in Ensenada on April 27th, hosted by Club Pura Vida, and then to Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín on July 20th, organized by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. Successful participants will advance to represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship on September 19-20 at Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
