**Four State Police Officers Temporarily Removed in Rosarito Amid Complaints**

Four officers from the State Police have been temporarily suspended in Rosarito after two formal complaints surfaced following the state police’s takeover of local security on March 7th. According to Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, Baja California’s Secretary of Citizen Security, one complaint was filed with the State Attorney General’s Office, while another was lodged with the security department’s Internal Control Body.

Carrillo Rodríguez stated, “We’ve received complaints regarding the state police. There are currently two formal cases under investigation.” He also addressed rumors on social media, noting that these are being investigated, though no further formal reports have been made.

**Officers Reassigned, No Evidence Yet**

Carrillo Rodríguez explained that the officers have been reassigned for safety reasons during the ongoing investigation by the Internal Control Body. “There is no evidence linking them to the accusations, but they have been relocated pending the investigation,” he clarified.

Since March 7th, the State Police have assumed responsibility for security in Rosarito, taking over from 264 municipal officers currently undergoing evaluations including psychological, medical, and toxicology tests, as well as social background checks and polygraph exams. Their firearms are also being examined for authenticity.

Ensuring accountability among officers is a rare occurrence, but this may mark the beginning of crucial reform within Rosarito’s security forces.
