Four officers from the State Police have been temporarily suspended in Rosarito following two formal complaints submitted since the state police assumed responsibility for local security on March 7th. According to the Secretary of Citizen Security of Baja California, Laureano Carrillo RodrÃguez, one complaint has been lodged with the State Attorney General’s Office, and another has been filed with the Internal Control Body of the security department.
“We have received complaints from the public about the state police. So far, there are two formal cases which are under investigation,” stated Carrillo RodrÃguez. He also mentioned that while there are allegations circulating on social media, no additional formal complaints have been submitted.

The State Police have assumed control over security in Rosarito since March 7th, taking over from the 264 municipal officers who are currently undergoing a comprehensive vetting process.
