### Four State Police Officers Temporarily Relocated in Rosarito Following Complaints
In a recent turn of events in Rosarito, four state police officers have been temporarily reassigned following two formal complaints lodged against them. This development comes on the heels of the state police assuming control of local security operations on March 7th.
The Secretary of Citizen Security in Baja California, Laureano Carrillo RodrÃguez, shared that one of the complaints was directed to the State Attorney General’s Office, while the other was submitted to the Internal Control Body within the security department. Carrillo RodrÃguez noted, “We’ve received a couple of formal complaints concerning the conduct of state police. These are under investigation.”
He also mentioned that there have been allegations circulating on social media, but no formal reports regarding these claims have been filed yet. As for the four officers involved, they have been temporarily relocated for their safety while the investigation by the Internal Control Body is underway.
Carrillo RodrÃguez emphasized that although no concrete evidence currently links the officers to the allegations, their reassignment is a precautionary step during the ongoing inquiry.
Since early March, the State Police have taken over the reins of security in Rosarito from the municipal police. The 264 municipal officers are now being subjected to a rigorous vetting process involving psychological, medical, and toxicology testing, as well as background checks and polygraph exams. Even their firearms are under scrutiny for serial number verification.
