### Businesses on Avenida Revolución Propose Waste Containers in Alleys
**TJGringo.com News | September 4, 2024**
Local merchants on Avenida Revolución are urging the implementation of waste containers in the alleys of the streets to address the growing issue of trash accumulation. Carlos Robles Literas, President of the Avenida Revolución Merchants Association, highlighted that the current waste management system is insufficient for the area’s needs.
Presently, merchants pay approximately six thousand pesos annually for trash collection services. Despite new workers and trucks being introduced, Robles Literas explained that the volume of waste remains too high to manage effectively. Hence, the proposal to place waste containers in the alleys to alleviate the burden on adjacent sidewalks.
The initiative has been discussed with Martín Muñoz, the city center’s delegate, but has yet to be finalized. Previously, merchants acquired six carts with bins that collect waste from local businesses, helping maintain cleanliness to an extent. However, further measures are necessary to manage the waste properly.
Robles Literas pointed out that uncollected trash on sidewalks promotes the proliferation of rodents and contributes to visual pollution. He also mentioned that many businesses close by 8 PM, leaving their trash outside, where it becomes susceptible to disturbance by homeless individuals or animals.
The trash issue has notably affected the area’s cleanliness and sanitary conditions, pushing local business owners to seek practical solutions urgently.
