#### Prime Wheel Furnace Supervisor Linked to Disappearance of Servando
Magdiel N., the furnace supervisor at Prime Wheel, has been formally charged in connection with the disappearance of maintenance manager Servando Salazar Cano, 35, who was last seen on August 23rd. This decision came on Monday, September 30th, following an investigation by public prosecutors. Magdiel allegedly worked in collaboration with Moisés N. and José Alfredo N., an engineer and general supervisor respectively, both of whom have been under investigation since the beginning of September.
On the day of the disappearance, Salazar Cano conducted a training session at Prime Wheel from 9:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., taking a break until 2:15 p.m. when he was expected to return. According to surveillance footage, Magdiel was seen leaving and re-entering the facility around the time Salazar Cano vanished. Notably, the smoke from one of the furnaces changed color from its usual white to black shortly after.
Further investigations by Tijuana’s Fire Department’s hazardous materials unit and forensic experts revealed that the color change was due to the burning of materials such as clothing, which would not occur with aluminum alone. Despite initial claims by Magdiel and his colleagues, surveillance footage contradicted their statements, indicating suspicious activities.
A search, including ducts, sewers, and other furnaces, has yet to yield any concrete evidence or a motive behind the incident. As a result, the judge has ordered Magdiel to remain in custody pending further investigation, with a six-month period set for additional inquiry concluding on March 30, 2025.
