“Morena Assembly in Tijuana, scheduled for 11 a.m., delayed by 2 hours. Attendees frustrated as promised amenities fail to materialize. Logistics challenges plague national gatherings.”

**Morena Assembly in Tijuana Delayed by Two Hours**

The national assembly of the Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena) party, set to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, in the Nuevo Toreo venue in Tijuana’s Loma Bonita neighborhood, experienced a delay of at least two hours. Attendees were informed by the National Executive Committee (CEN), led by Luisa María Alcalde, that they would arrive around 1 p.m.

Supporters, such as Carmela from the Ejido Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood, expressed frustration over the conditions. She noted, “We were told to arrive at 7 a.m., promised pizza and refreshments, but received nothing. The bus arrived at 8, and here we are in the sun. I’ll have to walk to a store because they haven’t provided anything after making us get up so early.”

The Municipal Welfare Secretariat, overseen by Erick “El Terrible” Morales, in coordination with the Sustainable Mobility Institute, organized transportation for supporters from Tijuana, Tecate, Ensenada, and San Quintín to the event location, owned by the Bowser family.

The assembly is set to welcome Luisa María Alcalde, the national leader of Morena, and Andrés Manuel López Beltrán, the movement’s secretary-general and son of the party’s founder, former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

**Additional Context: Morena’s National Assembly Challenges**

This delay in Tijuana is not an isolated incident for the Morena party, which has recently been facing logistical challenges in organizing large gatherings. Similar assembly events in other regions have been reported to struggle with maintaining timeliness and fulfilling promises made to attendees regarding transportation and refreshments. These organizational hiccups have sparked discussions among political analysts about the internal dynamics of the party and their capacity to manage nationwide mobilization effectively.

Furthermore, the presence of prominent figures such as Luisa María Alcalde and Andrés Manuel López Beltrán indicates the significance of these assemblies in positioning Morena for upcoming electoral challenges. Their participation highlights the party’s efforts to consolidate support and energize its base across Mexico, particularly in regions pivotal to their political strategy.

As Morena continues its series of assemblies across various states, the recurrent logistical issues underscore the importance of thorough preparation and communication with grassroots supporters to ensure these events run smoothly and maintain the party’s credibility and public image.
