**Sports Journalist Victimized by Burglary After Covering Caribbean Series in Mexicali**

Alexander Azuaje, a sports journalist for the Charros de Jalisco in the Mexican Pacific League, experienced a significant setback while in Mexicali for the Caribbean Series. His rented apartment was burglarized on the night of February 1st, while he was attending the Mexico vs. Venezuela game at the Nido de los Águilas stadium.

Upon returning to his Airbnb-lodged apartment, located on Calzada Independencia, Azuaje discovered a window ajar. It is believed that this was how the intruders gained entry. The thieves made off with approximately $1,800 in cash, two Samsung suitcases, four pairs of Cole Haan shoes, a blue Gucci watch, six pairs of pants, a MacBook, and a Burberry fragrance, among other items.

Reflecting on the incident, Azuaje lamented, “There was unfortunately nothing left upon my return. The front door was open, a door I had ensured was closed before leaving. The property owners were absent at the time, but the security footage they reviewed showed an individual carrying my belongings across the rooftop to make their escape.”

Azuaje has filed a formal robbery complaint with the Baja California State Attorney General’s Office. Police officers have been assigned to his case, and he hopes for a swift recovery of his stolen property.
