**Ongoing Search in Lomas Taurinas Uncovers Three Bodies in Clandestine Grave**
The discovery of a clandestine grave containing three bodies near Ecoparque Pasteje in Lomas Taurinas was made by the group “Todos Somos Erick Carrillo” on Wednesday, October 16. Given the possibility of more remains in the area, the search is set to resume on Tuesday. Eddy Carrillo, president of the foundation, mentioned that an anonymous tip, linked to a fire incident a month ago, led them to this site by revealing possible indications of more graves.
The search is part of a broader state-wide initiative that began over two weeks ago in celebration of the organization’s fifth anniversary on October 4. The anonymous source hinted at the presence of more than 20 bodies, prompting plans to continue the search after a temporary pause.
“The presence of lime was our first clue to more bodies. There are certainly more, which is why we decided to stop and will resume the search,” said Carrillo, estimating that the bodies believed to be present might date back three months to a year. He expressed concern over how such a crime scene exists just yards from a recreational space, illustrating a grim reality often overshadowed by Tijuana’s reputation.
Carrillo emphasized their efforts in prevention, stating, “Uncovering bodies alone will not halt this issue. Authorities are not thoroughly investigating. Collaborative prevention is key.” He hopes authorities will secure the site until the search continues. However, when visited, no personnel were guarding the area.
